Lou is smart and can fix any bike, not just a modern mountain bike. I took my 30+ year-old commuter bike there. It had so many problems and Lou was able to fix the bike back up. Also, Lou is a knowledge resource, the information he can give you is priceless.
There is another nearby bike store that is not as friendly. My experience with the other bike store put me off, I stopped going and have been better off.
I was going to a couple local bike shops in past, and I was always disappointed about lack of knowledge about product they sell, till one day I come over to Pedal Montclair. Lou open my eyes on bicycles world and thanks to his help on settling my bike correct way (other LBS ware not able to do it), and explain how everything works, I’m able to ride faster and more comfortable. Also I like brands they carrying for sale in their store, where I find Andrea very helpful to chose what’s best for you. I strongly recommend that shop to everyone. You won’t be disappointed
Couldn't post till just now so as to not ruin any holiday surprises but now I can rave about how awesome the folks at Pedal are! I was floored by the inviting, informative, and white glove service I got. I've been to other local bike shops and were turned off by the attitude, Pedal is the exact opposite. I will be back soon.

I came in looking for a bike for my son and Lou and Andrea took the time to ask me the right questions to ensure he received a bike that was the perfect fit. Since then, we've made other bike purchases through them and we only get our bikes serviced by Lou. Lou and Andrea are the best and always go above and beyond for their customers!
A hidden gem in Montclair, they take the time to understand and fully address whatever needs you have with your equipment. Highly recommended, and definitely a good role model for other bike shops!
